Key Functions
Recognising the peace-building potential of these faith communities as well as of specific traditions within the Muslim faith community, the institute will fulfil its mandate in two key functions:
- Explore: On-going exploration of religions, particularly Islam, to identify and recommend evidence-based solutions to complex national challenges, religious as well as non-religious;
- Engage: Open and informed engagement and debate between faith communities to promote sustainable peace, including the prevention, mitigation and resolution violent conflicts in Pakistan.
To this end, the institute will involve cross-sector scholars, data scientists, policymakers, practitioners, journalists, and students to work closely with faith actors on critical issues. Integration of educational institutions will be a key area of focus.
